Compassionate, Science-Based Treatment

My practice is grounded in providing treatment that has a strong research evidence-base for leading to recovery. I provide treatment via Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), with a specific focus on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Additionally, I incorporate self-compassion and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills such as acceptance, mindfulness, and values based living into my work.

Treatment Involves

As a part of CBT/ERP treatment, you will learn how to:

Recognize and understand your symptoms of anxiety/OCD.

Identify the anxiety-driven behaviors and mental patterns that anxiety pushes you to engage in an attempt to experience relief, yet ultimately reinforce your fear and take you away from living a meaningful life.

Respond to fears in new ways that diminish the control that anxiety/ocd has on your life and enhance your engagement in a life worth living.

Accept uncertainty and discomfort as a part of life and respond with self compassion rather than criticism and self-judgment.

Accessible Care

I provide care to adults living in Massachusetts virtually, using a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. Research has shown that virtual treatment (vs. in-person treatment) has the same beneficial impact on recovery. Virtual care has the additional benefit of allowing treatment of be more accessible. Even though I provide the majority of treatment via telehealth, I do conduct in-person exposure sessions in the Boston area when clinically indicated.
